Julie Hewett Lip Lush

I am not sure if Julie has reformulated these glosses to be paraben-free.  Mine do contain paraben and I am not dead yet from licking the glosses off my lips as you can determine by this post.  The texture of these glosses are slightly looser or less sticky than other glosses I have used.  They don't have that option of building up to an opaque finish, pretty much of a sheer finish.  I have

You Pays Your Money: Beauty Vending Machines

The Sephora Vending Machines selling 15 Euro bottles of CK One in the Paris Metro stations are a great hit apparantly - certainly they've had plenty of press exposure. But this is not a new idea: Sephora have already trialled the beauty vending machine concept in the states previously. There's a Nivea vending machine in Berlin (selling small tins of Nivea for 50c a shot)and I've mentioned before - last year - the Utique vending machine that caused a stir at Fred Segal, but don't think I've talked about what I think is the best one of all, Beautiful Vending's Straightener vending machine - pay your money and get a go with heated straighteners to re-perfect your do half way through the evening..or day. If I knew where and if these were located in London, I would definitely nip in for a quick sleek down - especially on a hideous frizz day, which we are having so many of lately. Can anyone provide a Central London Map flagging up the straightener locations....I'd like this in the back of my diary instead of the tube map which I don't understand anyway.

High Voltage cosmetics: more swatches & EOTDs

I really like High Voltage pigments! Last time I told you that their site is a bit difficult to browse but it's worth ordering anyway. Now I'm happy to tell you that now it's very easy to buy from High voltage :D Jasmine (the owner) added navigation bar and she also organized colors by shade. Search funtion is also very helpful. Thank you Jasmine!

Some more swatches... You can find my first HV swatches from here.

Tricia Sawyer Beauty-The Naked Starlet

Okay, the title made it sound like something nasty and seductive.  Nasty-no; seductive-possibly.  This is a loose shimmer powder by Hollywood makeup artist Tricia Sawyer.  By the sound of it, the words "loose shimmer" may sound like a mess, but this powder is housed in a nifty container which makes the product spill-proof.  There are 3 colors: Skinny, Ambitious, and Naked which retail for

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

Ruby Pumps is without a doubt the prettiest red polish I own. It has red glitter in red jelly base color.
There are two coats of polish over OPI - Friar, Friar, Pants on Fire! and a top coat on the photos.

China Glaze - QT

Ja, res obožujem holografske odtenke! :)

Yes, I really do love holographic nail polishes! :)
This time I have another wonderful colour for you - it's QT from China Glaze. This is very noticeable pink shade, maybe even fuchsia. The rainbow is pretty, but if I compare it to some other shades from this collection (OMG), it's a little bit more subtle.
There are 2 coats of polish on my nails, photos are taken with flash.
I really like it, it's such a QT! ;) And what do you think?

Products with extra UV Protection

Ha ha, the dodgy title of today's post is not the most catching and inspiring one. Still, after another week of being an OL (office Lady) I just had to write something on my dear blog, even though I do not have any exiting new news to bring.

I still want to show you one of my latest sets I am really curious about. I have read so much on Diorsnow from the famous beautybloggers online (Oh..Pretty and Fuzkitty are quite enthousiastic about it) that I jumped on the bandwagon and bought a trial set on sasa.com. I still want to try it first before I splurge on a new product, if possible.

It contains a tonic-kind lotion, a serum, a sunscreen and a powder foundation in a really matching colour.

All of these products have a high level of UV protection against the ageing sunrays...

The next powder compact with UV protection is from VOV: VOV White UV cover pact SPF 50+ in 23.

One of my commentors asked to make a mini-review of it when I posted a picture of it in this post. And yes, it fall under my title that it has UV protection, and a lot of it, according to the description: SPF 50 ++ and PA +++

It has the size of a larger mobile phone. It has a beautifully pearly white exterior. I think it looks both rather sophisticated and still fresh.

The compact has a double layer when opening. The top part contains a powder puff, so you can store your puff rather conveniently in the top part.

The lower part has the powder foundation. It looks much paler on this picture than in real life.

Colour:
I picked colour no 23, which was the darkest colour of the selection (here). I found it to be the right dept of colour, however, I also find it to be a bit too yellow, as I am a neutral to cool toned Caucasian woman. Still, I like the yellowness in the foundation during the cold winter I encountered, because I had lots of redness in my face, and around the nose, so the yellowness cancelled out the redness efficiently

My colouring:
I am a rather pale Caucasian woman, or, it sometimes seems that I am paler than the rest when I walk in the cosmetic store in the Netherlands, and most foundations offered always seem too dark for me.
In Great Britain I seem to have more luck when I browse the cosmetic departments, as I often find that they cater for lighter skintones as well. I even find lots of foundations offered to be too light. In the Netherlands, in contrast, they only seem to cater for the slightly tanned women.

Scent:
The compact has a light to medium old-fashioned powder scent, which wears off after wearing it for 5 minutes.

Texture:
One of the benefits of the texture of the powder is that it zaps up the oiliness that I have in my t-zone. It also blurred out the unflattering view of larger pores. It lasted for an average period. I had to reapply after approximately 3 a 4 hours (the t-zones).

Coverage:
The coverage is rather light. I would not wear this as a foundation product on its own, because it does not have the strenght to cancel out my irregularities. Still, as a blotting powder for an combined skin and to reduce the redness of the nose it is quite efficient. Thus, it is absolutely suitable to carry around.

Sun protective powers:
I am not quite sure yet, because the feeble winter rays have not been sufficient enough to make a judgement. However, I would not take the chance to use a foundation alone as a sun protector, even if it says it really has a high protection. I prefer to use a real sunblock underneath and still have some extra protection from the foundation. So I cannot say that much about its UV protection.

Price:
It comes quite cheap when ordering on gmarket: It only costs $10.59 AND you will get a gorgeously scented lipgloss of your choice (out of 4 colours) with it. Well, that is a better deal than I would get in the local drugstore. Still, gmarket is not cheap with shipping, so it only makes a good deal when you already have some things to order from gmarket, and you can add this as an extra.

Overall:
It is absolutely a good deal when you have NC 25 kind of undertone, or lighter when you pick colour no 21. It is efficient enough to blot the oiliness away, and it is absolutely not irritating. The downside is that you order it by gmarket, which can be a bit of a hassle for some.

MAC Penultimate brow marker & DermaE review

Ok, You can see my haul here and now I have had some time to test these products!

MAC Penultimate Brow Marker

I really like this brow marker! Unfortunately this is LE and there is only one color available. The color was ok for me, maybe a bit too reddish brown but I can use it. It's easy to apply and sheer enough for this purpose.

DermaE Vitamin A Wrinkle Treatment

The bottle is huge and inci is nice, but this gel is not very moisturizing. I have combination skin and I usually use moisturizing gel, but I have to use this under my Elysambre Balancing Fluid if I want to be able to move my face. LOL However I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRODUCT! This seems to keep my complexion clear (my skin in acne prone, believe or not :P).

I was so sad they don't sell my HG serum (Juvena Skin Nova serum) in Finland anymore but now I don't miss that too expensive (over 100€/30 ml) product at all. Haha :D I would love this even more if it would be unscented but the price makes is just perfect!

Derma E Vitamin A wrinkle treatment, 220 ml, 8.06 USD
Water (Aqua), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycerin, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natural
Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Caprylic/Capric and Fragrant Oils.

DermaE Hyaluronic & Pycnogel Eye Creme

HG! I love this one: good inci, moisturizing, calming and feels just so nice. This is unscented and works very well under make up too.

Derma Hyaluronic & Pycnogenol Eye Creme, 14 g, 12.58 USD Triglyceride, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Panthenol, Ascorbyl Palmitate (C-Ester), Pinus Pinaster (Pycnogenol) Bark Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

And a little advertising :D If you decide to order from iHerb, you can get -5 USD from your first order with my code BAC791
(You will get your own code to give to your friend when you make the first order)
.

If you know other nice products from DermaE, I'd like to hear about those too :) I was very pleased with the quality & pricing!

No niin, nyt olen ehtinyt testaamaan täällä esittelemäni tuotteet :)

MAC Penultimate Brow Marker

DermaE Vitamin A Wrinkle Treatment

Derma E Vitamin A wrinkle treatment, 220 ml, 8.06 USD Water (Aqua), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycerin, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natural Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Caprylic/Capric and Fragrant Oils.

DermaE Hyaluronic & Pycnogel Eye Creme

HG!

Derma Hyaluronic & Pycnogenol Eye Creme
, 14 g, 12.58 USD Triglyceride, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Panthenol, Ascorbyl Palmitate (C-Ester), Pinus Pinaster (Pycnogenol) Bark Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Ja pieni "mainos" loppuun :D Jos tilaat ensimmäsitä kertaa iHerbistä, saat koodillani
BAC791 -5 USD tilauksestasi (ei minimiostosta). Saat oman koodin kavereille annettavaksi, kun teet itse tilauksen. Olen aivan addiktoitunut iHerbiin!

Jos muuten tiedät jotain kivoja tuotteita DermaE:ltä, kuulisin niistä mielelläni!

Armani Face Fabric Radiance - Scoop!

I'm a big fan of Armani foundations, but have been slightly out of the loop of late. However, I'm completely loving their latest venture into the skin radiance arena. Face Fabric, £29, which launches in June, gives skin an ethereal glow - kind of silvery shot with pink - and totally keys into chiffon-y nude looks. It's supposed to give a pale glow - the opposite of what most glow-makers do: bronze glow, golden glow et al, so is a trend maker on its own. Like it. Out in June.

Speed Reviews: Bobbi Brown Johnson & Johnson, Biotherm, Estee Lauder, Jemma Kidd, Frederic Fekkai

Johnson & Johnson 24 Hour Moisturiser Extra Rich Body Lotion
I've been SO lazy all winter about applying body moisturiser so when I went to the launch of this, it was a good reminder to start dealing with dry skin. Although I like luxier products, I was impressed with this in terms of non-stickiness, hydration and smell....it doesn't over power fragrance or any other scented products you might like to use (a real gripe of mine is over-fragrancing body lotions so the smell clashes with everything else...I never want to smell too much of melons etc) and a wake-up to me was the price - £2.99. That's a lot of moisturising for a very little bit of cash. I've also included a couple of pics of the launch - nice cakes!

Biotherm Huile de Gommage Oil Therapy and Biotherm Aqua Source Skin Perfection
I'm delighted to have a re-introduction to Biotherm, but it is something of a tale of two halves. On the plus, Biotherm Aqua Source Skin Perfection, £27, ticks every moisturiser box in the book for boosting hydration levels and making skin feel and look ultra-comfortable - and concetrating the equivalent of 5,000 litres of thermal spring water, it manages to keep skin hydrated literally all day. On the minus, the Gommage Oil Therapy (not yet in shops) didn't really give the surge of hydration that I was expecting. It absorbs easily, smells beautiful (containing oils of Passion Flower, Rose Mosqueta and Apricot) but still left my skin feeling a bit dry. It doesn't profess to be a body butter, so maybe I'm used to a different formulation (it comes out of the tube like orange jelly), but was disappointed none the less.

Frederic Fekkai Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner
Not a great deal to say on this duo other than at £18 each, you really need it to deliver. It does. It makes my naturally-curly-but-subjected-to-torture-under-straighteners hair shine, shine, shine like nothing else ever has.

Estee Lauder Nautical Matte Eye Shadow (launching end March)
I'm a little bit smitten with this flat navy shade. I always need to use a primer (UD Shadow Potion) with it because nothing looks worse than dark and dusky shades that are creasing and wearing away (lighter shades are far more forgiving) and it doesn't quite last the day on its own, but it is gorgeous worn on it's own with a bit of black mascara and liner for really sultry eyes. As you'll see I've been attending the School of Rubbish Photography again...sorry!

Bobbi Brown Cabana Coral Lip & Eye Palette
I am really enjoying using this palette which is perfect for my preference for neutrals with a kick. Six eye shades and four lip shades in the coral spectrum make a gorgeous natural look that you can rev up or down depending upon how you like it (although correctly speaking, I'm not sure you can 'rev down'!! Two colours are stand-out - Bermuda Pink - a shimmery coral pink, and golden Bonfire. The only thing missing is a creme blush, which I think would have been a better option than four lip shades - three would be plenty and a creme blush to complement the look would have made it more functional palette. £48.

Jemma Kidd Make Up School Blushwear in Pawpaw
Because I wasn't a fan of Mineral Veil, I was a little bit sceptical about trying other items from the range...however, so glad I got over myself because I love this cream blush thats infused with skin loving vitamins. The colour is a perfect peach that goes on skin with milky backdrop - and the lightest touch. I like the buildability of this, as well as the blendability. All in all, a great buy if you're doing the coral trend. £13.

Advanced Beauty Tools Foaming Brush Cleanser

I got this free not because ABT contacted me but because I signed up for their emails and they were giving away a bottle to the first certain number of subscribers.  They never contacted me to review this.

The first time I saw Advanced Beauty Tools was on the Home Shopping Network.  The brand sells synthetic brushes which means they are vegan friendly.  They are supposedly weighted

China Glaze - He's Going In Circles + konad

Kako pa se zdi vam?

Today I have a holographic nail polish on my nails again. This is China Glaze He's Going In Circles. I got it from a very nice girl honeybear from forum ARS.
This is pale green colour with bigger holographic particles. I was afraid that it wouldn't look good on me, but luckily I was wrong. I really love it!
There are three coats on the photos, they are all taken with flash because of a really bad weather here.
In the end there is a photo of a konad experiment with Essence All Access nail polish. I really love the combination of this Essence over lighter green holo polish.
And what do you think?
